Myla is back, and just as sassy as ever. Her son is growing at a faster rate than normal, and a new danger is brewing. Myla’s adopted brother Walker is on a mission to save his brother from a new enemy who wants to release Lucifer, the most dangerous archangel ever. So Myla and Lincoln leave their son with her parents, which leads to some really hilarious moments, and set off to help Walker when he goes missing. There is a new surprise with a big bad lava angel, and a hidden place even Lincoln didn’t know about. There is lots of magic, battles, and what seemed to me a slightly darker tone to this book than the last one.
I gave this book five stars because one, it has no dull moments. It had my attention from the start. Everything from the fighting to the cute little moments with the baby. Two, it really shows how the character has grown. Myla sucks it up and does what has to be done, even giving her blessing to adoring worshipers. And lastly, the detail to the story. I can picture exactly how things are done, and what their location looks like. Nothing is vague even in battle, giving it that extra bit of reality.
