Who is Marisol Holmes?
She’s a teenager.
Detective.
Jaguar shifter.
And don’t forget, she’s also the descendant of the great Sherlock Holmes.
Our heroine had been in some pretty tight spots before, but now? She’s about to face her biggest challenge yet: a powerful shifter with a taste for blood. No one has faced down the deadly wolf of the Baskervilles and lived to tell the tale.
Even so, Marisol Holmes plans to do just that.

An Interview with Majanka Verstraete
Welcome to JB’s Bookworms with Brandy Mulder. We’re excited to be showcasing The Wolf of the Baskervilles, today. Is it a new release?Yes, it’s a new release.
Please tell us a little bit about it?
The Wolf of the Baskervilles is the third book in the Adventures of Marisol Holmes series, a series of YA paranormal novels focusing on Marisol Holmes, the great-great granddaughter of the famous Sherlock Holmes, who also happens to be a jaguar shifter.
What inspired you to write it?
My publisher suggested to write a story about shifters and combine it with my background as a Criminology major… And that’s how I came up with the idea of the descendant of Sherlock Holmes being a shifter and solving paranormal crimes.
Titles and names of characters are always interesting. How did you choose yours?
The “Holmes” part was quite easy, as the connection with Sherlock Holmes had to be evident. As for “Marisol”, I wanted a name that started with a “M”, and this one had a nice ring to it.
Who is your favorite character, and why?
Mannix, no doubt, the villain of the series. I just love how wicked he can be, and how he has no regard for anyone or anything. Just when I think I know what he’s going to do next, he finds a way to surprise even me—and I’m the one writing this!
What do you hope readers learn or receive from this story?
I hope readers learn to trust themselves, rely on their instincts, to realize they’re capable of much more than they give themselves credit for. There’s a hero in all of us, it’s just a matter of finding our inner strength and embracing who we truly are.
Which Authors have inspired you over the years, and what is it that drew you to them?
Too many to count, to be honest. I’ve been inspired by J.K. Rowling, George R.R. Martin, Raymond E. Feist, Robin Hobb, Sarah J. Maas, and many, many more.
Is there anything you would like to add before we call it a day?
Thank you very much for having me here. If any one of your readers have questions for me, I’m more than happy to answer them, and if anyone ends up reading The Wolf of the Baskervilles, I hope you enjoy it!
Thank you so much for joining us. Good luck with Wolf of the Baskervilles.
