Tainted Legacy Guest Post

Author Bio:I have been writing for 6 years and have written a number of books. I am really excited to start publishing these and see if others love my books like I do. I'm influenced by so many authors and books that I couldn't list them all the! All my stories have a theme of overcoming what nature has given you as this is something I have really experienced in life. I have struggled with MS since I was 17. This is something which has given me the strength and the experience to be able to write about the lowest lows and the highest highs.
The Theme of Tainted LegacyThe main theme of the story is to stay true to yourself. Ava finds herself in a school where everyone is telling her who she is. It’s a pressure most of us feel every day when people take one look at you and judge you. As Ava learns more about herself and her own strength we see other forms of friendship, love and magic. The relationships between the characters were really important to me as an author. With a coming of age style novel, especially, you need to be able to see the influences around you. With Ava, we see this in her strong sisterhood style friendship with Sky and an almost mothering role with Skit. When it came to the romance aspect of it, it is my take on the love/hate relationship.
The school and magic are the foundations of the story. The magic is something that you just start to see as Ava gets her Gift and must learn how to control it. The school is a constant in the background. It is based on the boarding school I went to in Berkshire England. The oak tree and teachers are all based on my experience when growing up. For me this lends a level of authenticity to the world I have created.
