My Review
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This series is about a girl with Cystic Fibrosis, who ends up in a hidden garden. wow is about all I can say about all the different sides to this story. It's a science fiction involving multiple realities, and cause and effect. The garden has its own version of reality, as the truth starts to come out, so do the monsters. Not all of which look like monsters. This series really makes you wonder how well you really know your family, and friends. Even though Synthia (Syn) has CF she's a fighter, and it really makes the story gripping as you wonder if she's going to make it as she is coughing blood while trying to make it through all the dangers around her. The symptoms of her disease are not glossed over and while it's not too hard to follow the explanations of the garden it might get confusing to younger readers, so I would suggest 16+ on this one. It's got death, disease, monsters, you name it.

In this sequel garden has become a mess now that Syn has destroyed the computers in the big house, and the creepers have come out. She has to save her sister, but this time she needs help. Her CF is bad, and this leaves Syn relying on friends from her world as the people from the garden now hate her for what she did. Cole is no longer hiding what he is, and is out to teach Syn a very painful lesson. More of the truth about how the garden was created, and where the people and creepers came from comes out, and Syn gets to see firsthand the effects of the gardens creation on the realities left behind. If you have seen the movie the butterfly effect, you will have an idea of how some of the changes are slight and how some are very different. I would recommend a slightly more mature reader as there is violence, and reality jumping. I also recommend reading the first book, so the second is easier to follow. The second picks up right after the first.

About the Author

My name is Michael Seidelman. I was born in Vancouver, BC Canada where I continue to reside. When I was growing up, my passions were reading, watching movies, nature and creative writing. Not much has changed since then. In high school when I had an opportunity to write short stories in class, I relished reading them out loud to my classmates who would gasp at the unexpected twists and applaud when I was done. I took several creative writing classes and have continued writing over the years while working in Interactive Marketing.

About two years ago, I decided to take some time off to focus on my writing and work on a Young Adult trilogy. The first book in The Garden of Syn series – No One Dies in the Garden of Syn – will be released on April 26th. Meanwhile, I am working hard on the second and third books in the series.

Getting up every morning and sitting down to create new characters and bring new worlds to life is the most fulfilling job I have ever had. Beyond the trilogy, I have many ideas plotted out and I look forward to sharing them all with the world!
